An explanation of the terms used in the PH Miracle – Alkaline Diet

Alkaline water – water that contains amounts of bicarbonate of calcium, lithium, potassium, and sodium.

PH Balance – pH stands for “potential of hydrogens”, and it is how we measure the acid or alkaline levels of a solution.  Increased hydrogen ions results in a more acid  solution and vice versa. Neutral PH is normally 7, with lower levels leaning to the acidic side, and upper levels leaning more to the alkaline side. Healthy blood normally measures at 7.5 but most people’s PH varies between 6 – 6.5.

Alkaline diet – is a diet that consists mainly of fruits, vegetables and milk ( with very small amounts of proteins like meat, fish, eggs, or cheese) wich, when metabolised, leave an alkaline residue that is excreted in the urine. It is also sometimes referred to as Alkaline Ash Diet.

PH Strips – PH Strips are strips that are specifically manufactured to  measure the pH balance in either saliva or urine and can be bought from health stores and some pharmacies as well as online.

Alkalize – to make alkaline

Alkaline – Capable of neutralizing an acid. Bases are alkaline. 2. Relating to an alkali compound. 3. Having a pH greater than 7. 4. Having a relatively low concentration of hydrogen ions.
