Recipe: Alkaline Beetroot & Carrot Salad
Summary: This is a beautiful salad with an earthy taste that is sure to become a firm favourite in your house hold!
Alkaline Beetroot and Carrot Salad
Ingredients
1 fresh raw beetroot
2 large carrots
1tbs sesame oil
1/2 lime or lemon
salt & pepper to taste
dash of cayenne pepper
Instructions
1. Peel the beetroot and grate it finely.
2. Grate the carrots finely (peel them if you don’t like th e skin although the skin is very good for you!)
3. Mix the beetroot and carrot in a salad bowl, squeeze the lemon or lime juiceĀ over the salad and add the other ingredients and toss well.
This is a wonderfully colorful salad that will brighten up any day. Can be eathen as a snack or with a main course. If you get hungry often between meals, use this as a healthy snack to keep hunger pangs at bay.
For variation you can add:
Crunchy celery
Feta cheese
Diced Onions
Diced Apple
