Alkaline Tomato Soup

Recipe: Alkaline Tomato Soup

Summary: This is a healthy soup that tastes so much better than any bought variety and of course is much better for your health too!

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes cut in half
  • 1 carrot diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 Celery stick diced
  • 2 Cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 Sprig fresh Basil chopped (optional)
  • 500 ml water salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Celcius. Place the tomatoes on a baking tray and place it in the middle of the heated oven. Sprinkle some seasalt over the tomatoes. Bake for 40 minutes.
  2. Halfway into the 40 minutes, add the diced onion, basil and garlic to the tomatoes in the oven.
  3. In the meantime, boil the water on the stove and add the diced carrot and celery to it.
  4. Once the tomatoes have finished baking for 40 minutes, remove it from the oven, and together with the water , carrot and celery, blend it finely in a blender.
  5. Add it back into the pot and heat it back up without letting it boil.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add a dash of cayenne pepper to it if you are really adventurous
