Recipe: Alkaline Butternut Salad
Summary: Butternut salad with lime and pineapple
Ingredients
1 Small Butternut peeled and cored 1 Small Pineapple cleaned and cored 1 Medium Lime or Lemon salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Grate the butternut and half the pineapple together into a bowl. Use the fine grater settings for the butternut. Squeeze out the juice of the lime or the lemon and add it to the butternut and pineapple. Add salt and pepper to taste. This is a recipe that will become a firm favourite in your house with its summery look and flavours. I prefer using lime in this salad becasue it brings out the flavors but if you don’t have lime you can use lemon juice.
For variety and color you can also add: Basil Mint Parsley
Most people will think that this is carrot salad because it looks and tastes very much like carrot salad. Butternut is a good choice for a very alkaline salad.
If you are on a strict alkaline diet, leave out the pineapple for a more alkaline salad as pineapple contains fruit sugars that leave an acidic ash.
